Welcome to
Asian Institute of Journalism and Communication
The Asian Institute of Journalism and Communication (AIJC) is a Knowledge Management Center organized in 1980 as a graduate school of journalism, founded on the philosophy that communication is a vital development resource to be used to advance the common good.
Today, AIJC has a solid record of more than thirty years in the communication field – as a graduate school for communicators and journalists, a center for continuing education in journalism, communication, and knowledge management, and a research and project management firm advocating policies and implementing programs and projects that address development issues and concerns both at the levels of national decision-making and community-based initiatives.
The ICT for Development (ICT4D) Unit of AIJC promotes the strategic use of ICT in various human development endeavors. Program areas include content development, capability-building, and research focused on the impact of ICT on the socio-cultural, economic and political dimensions of society.
Amidst the technology-driven shifts in today’s media landscape, AIJC has strengthened its institutional capacity through its strategic alliance with Now Corporation, a Philippine Stock Exchange publicly-listed telecommunications, media and technology company.
AIJC is now gearing up to reinventing its programs and services to make them more relevant and responsive to a fast-evolving Knowledge Society while remaining committed to its mandate of communication for development.
